At Irving Woodlands, we're part of something bigger. Our company’s own forest operations support 5,339 jobs across the regions where we work, from the woods to the mills to the trucks that move wood every day.
But the story doesn't end there. Based on a recent economic report for New Brunswick, the overall forest products sector supports over 26,000 jobs—one in every 17 workers. These jobs are dispersed across 70% of the communities in the province.
The sector puts $1.9 billion in employment income into people's pockets each year, with workers earning a 30 percent wage premium compared to other business sectors.
That income turns into $1.4 billion spent at businesses across the province—from everyday essentials to the local shops on the main streets of our communities.
Forestry also contributes $545 million in taxes and royalties to the provincial government and further $112 million to municipalities—revenue that helps fund schools, hospitals, roads, and essential services that we all count on.
From paycheques that sustain families, to the taxes that build infrastructure, forestry remains New Brunswick's most significant economic driver.
